I'd imagine it's to give room for longer runner intake manifolds and brake booster / strut tower clearance. The exhaust side (except for the turbos) is fairly compact.

The t5 ecu output to the tach as a 4 cylinder signal surprisingly, it’s possible the stock ecu for the b6284 might too (doubtful but maybe).

The m56 5th is .70 with a final drive of 4.0. I’m not surprised your T5/4.10 combo works so well. The turbo and NA t5 (motors) really are happiest cruising around 2700-3000 rpm.

I’m using the same companies mounts for whiteblock to 240 and they are really well made. If you wanted to ditch the OEM redblock mounting all together, these would probably be a great choice.
