edit:// the process is: bolts in eastwood tumbler with green pyramids and two tsp of metal wash for two days, then rinse and dunk in warm eastwoodco metal blackener, then rinse and air dry, buff with clean paper towel, then sprayed with eastwoodco diamond clear clearcoat

I assuming you are only putting clearcoat on the heads. Do you have a sense yet of how durable/ corrosion resistant the blackening is? Is it the same stuff as the black oxide on socket cap screws?
