S60R brakes on a 240

The R fronts and rears are different you need adapters to fit the rears.

As I thought to be true.

Okay, so how about this. If I got to summitracing and look up the brake pads for the rear R calipers I get results that those pads fit cadillac, subaru, mitsubishi, ect. Okay, so for cadillac it says they fit a STS-V from 2006-2009. Bore a little deeper and summit shows a caliper with ac delco part number 89047743/89047742.

These look to be the same as the R calipers but in cadillac/ac delco clothing at a much cheaper price than brand new Volvo calipers.

Have a friend that can machine a rotor that fits exactly inside the R drum without using a 240 drum. But i have more faith in the modified brakeshoes as those are stationary and sounds best. Awaiting pictures

Nope haven't run them yet. I know someone else who has been though. I'm not too skeptical in my applicstion- i have no plans of using themfor locking the wheels at speed- just parking.

Gonna piggyback a little here. Do most people who run these on a 240 mount them behind the wheel instead of in front like on an R? If so, doesn't that mean you have to run the DS caliper on the PS and vice-versa? How do the pads wear? Or is everyone able to get the bleeder plugs out so the calipers can be run correctly?

They will need to be mounted so the bleeder screw is at the highest point or you'll never get the air out of them.

You could run them with the pistons in the same positions, it just means removing calipers to bleed. Once bled, it shouldn't be a problem with the bleeders down.

I have a set of front calipers if anyone is looking.

I have always ran the bleeders UP so, get all of the air out. We have done 4 sets full big brake kits, each one if different. We always run into problem where we can't get the brake pedal stiff enough. We end up replacing all of the soft lines front and rear and fixes a lot of the softness in the petal. We use a POWER Bleeder to get most or all of the air out of the lines, and then finished it off by pumping the brake pedal.

Bolt pattern going to be different from the R brakes. So my adapters will not work.
