Update.....

Left rear now under way

Sill now looks nice

Same as opposite side,we needed to address bmw rear arm mount,as door wont close

Opposite sill

Door mod so it will close

Mod successful !

Door closed and all lined up !

Next week we will join amazon rear to bmw inner, as our body was so turd we d loads of bodywork to do before we could actually join em.

Seemed like we were doin not a lot, but we can see a bit clearer now.

Update..........

We started to join our rear inner arches to the bmw chassis.

From inside.

Boot floor saved from earlier, we want to use it, so it looks like its from sweden still. :)

Nice fit, perfecto.

All cut away now

We are about to construct our spare wheel well, so will put some pics up ASAP

Rear end is now a lot more sturdy, you can see the bars to keep it all lined up are now removed .

We cut all boot floor out, as we decided it would be easier, and look better if we made our own

We folded some steel, to use for our floor support

X2

All cut back to near rear diff

We folded some more steel, we will use it later...

More to come, today we are about to bead roll some steel sections of our boot well,

We plan for it to look as cool as we can

update.......

We made our spare wheel well, and are pleased with the results

Opposite side

Cut out and ready

VW T3 motor lid, we will use it in a minute ;-)

Mocked up, ready to bead roll

Bead rolled

VW T3 motor lid, cut for our spare wheel floor

Number 2x bead rolled

3rd panel bead rolled, all blasted and zinc primed ready to fit :)

Some more of our project.....

Before we blasted them, you can we ve marked for it to be rolled

Trial fit before official install and bead roll

Sides and rear piece all welded in, our well base AKA...VW T3 motor lid is just sat in and screwed, we need to square it up properly and we can proceed to weld er up.

More to come soon :)

Thanks for your positive comments :)

I know, it was a turd, next stop was definitely a scrap yard,

But ive saved it, and it will be more awesome than ever.

I look forward to when all this bodywork is done,

We should be able to fit the motor soon

We ve been busy on other projects, so not done a lot recently,

But now our new panels have arrived, we re back on with it.

Also our motor is back, a clutch and conversion plate was made to take our 6 speed e36 M3 EVO transmission

Transmission we will use, m3 evo

Back corner is almost restored, it looks really nice !

Will put some more pics up soon

The rear of this thing turned out to look pretty incredible. Kudos on solid ideas and execution! Pretty brilliant to use the Volvo load floor and VW engine lid in the way that you did.

Hows the fit of those new front panels? Typical reproduction fit issues or worse? I'm considering getting a new nose for my car since mine is so bent, but I'm always skeptical of aftermarket panels.

Panels fit perfect as in, they are genuine OEM VOLVO panels :)

We ve been sat since September, waiting for Volvo to send their presses back from Poland to Sweden, and re start production,

Its totally delayed our amazon project, so now we need to act fast

Now we can line our front end up and proceed with our project,

Amazing you can order new panels, as mine were terrible and to find replacements is near impossible, you can order fibreglass ones, but to me dont look right :-(

We removed our support bars now its welded up,

You can see up front we left some in, we d not done completed the bulkhead/firewall, and those support our hinges for our hood, so will be removed once we know all is ok :)

More pictures...

We made our battery box lid

Back on to our front end now for a bit :)

Inner panels and cross member to finish

All braces now removed, and we trial fitted our strut brace to see if our hood will close ok, and it does

Inner panels more or less done

We decided to fit our motor :)

Its just sat in place on a piece of wood.

You can see old mount and where it needs to be

Opposite side, volvo mount is removed

Opposite side

A few more pictures.

We made our motor mounts.

Looks almost perfect

Opposite side, we needed to keep clear of our UJ so we can still steer.

Next job is to complete firewall.
