I have a part number for a Bosch voltage regulator but I want to make sure it's the right one P/N 1-97-311 028.. Thanks in advance..

Higher voltage is not good for batteries in hot weather.

I've used these regulators for 20 years and haven't had any issues. The higher voltage is an ideal set point and I've never really seen them run that high a voltage. Oh, and the higher output voltage is designed for the newer batteries which require higher voltage for a full charge.

Sometimes the voltage set point is written on the back of the regulator. That is what is on the HUCO ones. Whatever you use. It should be at least a 14.4V setpoint which is better for modern batteries.
