What would prevent these Adjustable Torque rods from fitting on a 940?

Also...
Does anyone know any other more cost effective options than the Kaplhenke Adjustable torque rods?

I know it has been done. Seems they are the wrong length(two different lengths on a 740 also) and one side is not wide enough or big enough hole for where they bolt onto the rear end on a 740. But with a cutting tool and a welder and a drill you could probably make them work. They might end up looking like these prototype 740 rear IPD adjustable torque rods good old Lucky made back in the Lucky days at IPD.

Thanks for the response Simon

With that extra effort needed to make them fit I might as well just spend the extra bucks to get the kaplhenke ones. I was hoping the only difference might be slightly different length and as long as the weren't too long at their shortest point or too short at their most extended point I could swing it.

Unless someone knows another less expensive source.
