Making a Cam sensor for b230fk

Hi

So im looking to make a cam sensor for my red block.
Was planning on putting a Hall sensor onto the timing belt cover to detect a bolt put through the cam pulley, that would line up at Top dead center.
Thing is there isn't much room for the other end of the bolt between the pulley and the head.

Short of welding a pick up onto the pulley, what could i do for a relatively simple cam sensor?
How did you do your own? (for those who have obvs)

its going on, for an input to a standalone ecu to run coil packs.

Manythanks.

or a DSM CAS Adapter thingy from yoshifab.. i like the fact that you can delete the distributor when going fully COP

But im really interested in other ways to do it.. and more cheap, more better :D

I appreciate the built in hall sensor on a dissi but I will be going coilpacks.
Also struggling to source an axillary shaft with the gear to run a block mounted distributor, so both the head and block will be blanked off.
can this thread be how to run coil packs on a redblock.

cheers

Couldn't you just fire 2 packs at the same time, wasted spark?

To get a cam signal I would mount a magnet to the cam wheel and use a industrial style magnetic pickup, nice and bulletproof.
