Oil Pump Mods - Max Effort

Thanks for the interest Brickers'.

If anyone is interested in these oil tubes please send me an email so I can keep in touch with you in a more convenient way.

These are still untested, so I'll likely give a few out at no cost to those willing to try them, or at least evaluate them.

I don't have a clear idea on how much they might sell for, but the cost of making them in small quantities isn't cheap. I'll figure it out soon.

I emailed you Friday I believe. I will sit and respond with engine build specs. I can run proto type tube on my stock ish street/light race motor for a year if you want and report back. I'll get right on the email tho with all my build specs. I deff need one.

So, I'm getting real close to getting those oil tubes made.
I went ahead and began working on some dedicated tooling.
A weld fixture and a tube bending jig that allows me to get tight radius bends very close to one another. These tools although being an expensive up-front investment, will allow me to easily(and more cheaply) make oil tubes on demand as needed.

*Fixed the pictures not remote loading!*
Just a little update,
I've managed to get a set of tubes bent that I'm happy with, although I had to resort to filling the tubes with bismuth alloy to prevent the pretty dramatic collapsing of the thin-wall tube.

You can see here what I've done, I used a low-temp alloy(~190F) to fill the tubes before bending so they bend more like a solid bar.

The Bismuth alloy looks and behaves a lot like solder, but melts below the boiling point of water so removing it is easy, just heat with a heat gun or place the parts in boiling water.

The end result is a nicely bent part, similar to a mandrel bent part. However, it can get a bit tedious filling and draining tubes.

I'm finding the process of making these tube components to be very labor intensive and I haven't yet found a supplier that get produce this shape to the needed tolerances, at least for a reasonable cost.
In the future I'll be using some other methods for producing these components, I'll have too!

Anyhow, I've completed my weld fixture and trimmed the tube assemblies to length, now I just need to TIG braze everything together, black-oxide them and box-em-up.

To add more fun to this:
I can see the images while using my iphone.
I can not see the images on my laptop.

I know someone with a mandrel bender for small tubing. I could see if its something they think they can tackle.

Another interested party here. I'd take 2 and 1 for backup

Another simple part that could save me a huge issue on a race weekend [losing the pump oring]
