Jonny P's 242 GT Turbo project

I didn't do any seam welding in the engine bay simply because I had already painted it before I started seam welding and I didn't want to have to paint it again. So with that in mind the crash absorption of the front end is not compromised. all the seam welding is concentrated around the passenger compartment (roof, doors, windows and floor) as well as the rear frame rails. and like stylngle said they don't check for that. They only check for rot holes and damage when it comes to the body shell.

You might want to look into getting Ben's new strut brace then to help stiffen things up up there. As well as some underneath bracing, assuming you don't already have some, but I think you do.

Sweetassssss project man, can't wait to see it more done... Put that spoiler on and take pictures!

I have upper and lower braces that I fabbed up (my GT only came with the 23mm swaybar with no braces) But later on once its all together I will do some kind of strut to strut brace

Potential tuckagge

very nice tuckage indeed!

I've tucked the comandos on my 242 but I'm looking to ditch those heavy clunkers. what year are those bumpers from? that rear one looks very nice!

Its actually the undesirable large plastic bumper. Im doing some slight mods to the body in order to tuck it like that.

we didn't get the smaller bumpers in canada.

A little sender mod. I will see how this pump does. I don't think I will have any more pump issues.

I don't know what company makes them off hand, I ordered them from the local garage supply shop. There just standard rust repair panels. I'm just stretching them out with a hammer and dolly.

There is a company in Canada that makes them. Called....... Cross Canada.

You can get all sorts of parts from them. Arches, rockers.. etc

Im trying to decide if I should paint the bumpers silver or not

very nice! damn thats a perfect restoration, that car will be good to go for another century.. :-P

imho leave the bumpers black, you can get them painted later on if you dont like the look of the black bumpers..

I completely agree...This is such a kick ass restoration job, I think you should try and retain a few of the original color cue's, and the black bumpers would certainly be part of it....

Nice work!
