Oh and Bruce, the headlight protector I got from you totally didn't work!

That was my second thought, after 'Damn, than really sucks Sim'. I'll give you a full refund next time I see you.

I do have a silver coffin hood I could also offer as compensation for my misrepresented headlight protectors.

Kinda want to try dailying that. In for the group buy.

I have $50 for a 1% share of the car

And I'll do another $50 for my 1%, which entitles me to 3 and 2/3 of a day per year.

Well, the Snot Rocket got punched in the face the other day.

:-( That's snot funny. (Also that really sucks. :-( :-( :-()

Sorry to hear that Sim. Unfortunately I don't have anything to help. If you can't find stuff at a yard or off Turbobricks Schrams may be able to help you.

Just, uh, don't say I sent ya. :ninja:

I have the front slam panel and lower panel, and headlamp bracket/panels from my 80 that I won't be using. BUUUUUUT I'm in Edmonton.

I'm not sure my dad is making a trip out any time soon, to bring it back for you.

I've got corner lamps, actually. E-Code and not. Let me know before 5 and I can bring some tonight. Got the pieces of the hood latch we jerry-rigged for Lumpy's orange hood too, so if you need pieces I've got those.

Well, poop. Sorry to hear that Sim.

I've got some odd and sods for lenses, and I think I've got a turbo coffin grill stowed. Unfortunately all I've got is quad squares for spares, but I've got a complete set with plastic. Lemme know if it'll help.

Slam panel! That's what the tool tray is actually called, thanks
Jordan.

The grille was launched into the intersection after the three
tabs on the bottom sheared off, I haven't looked closely, but I
think it's still good.

The real bummer about the headlight protectors is I had been
meaning to make a tool from them to produce more, one of them was
cracked already. Now I'm going to have to make a tool from first
principles. Oh well.

Thanks for all the offers and kind words guys, I really
appreciate it.

I have Friday off, I think I'll get out the toolbox full of funny
shaped hammers, and see if I can figure out how to use them.

I'm actually feeling pretty good about it. I have spares of most
if not all of the plastic stuff, and the rest is just metal. I
can work metal. I can afford to spend a fair bit of time bashing
sheet metal at seventeen cents an hour.

^Yeah, that headlamp cover was cracked when I had it. Came that way when I got them from kammer at iPd in 2011.

They're the early style sold by iPd in the early-mid 1980's, before they went to the wraparound style with the three pinstripes.

Ah the small world of RWD Volvo enthusiasts.

For some reason I was under the impression they fit over quad
rounds only. Even though I know the pins and external dimensions
of the surrounds are the same.

I like that they cover (covered) the surrounds only, but I
suppose wrap-around would be better for drag reduction purposes.

It's a bit ironic that the protectors will probably be much
harder to replace than the stuff they protected.

I guess you went to e-codes on your 240?

Here is how she looked last Saturday, much less depressing:

lol, yup.

Probably due to them being shown on the iPd project '79 wagon mainly, so that's kinda how they likely got associated with the early 260 and 1978-80 244/245 front end. They did show a pic of them attached on an '82 240 Turbo at one time or another, though.

Yeah, for a while. The E-codes are now on my 242 and the 245 is back to stock for now. Getting some funds together to buy another set of E-codes for the 245, that way it'll look nice again when it's alive. That, and I'll be able to see... Two small rectangular spots with a little bit of a halo around them doesn't cut it.

Yeah, stock sealed beams are appalling.

I've got, well had, Hella H1s in all four holes, with an extra relay to keep the lows on with the highs.
They cost ten times what sealed beams go for, but sure were worth it.

I'll have to dig though my email for the receipt to show the estimator.

Got this cargo cover with a bunch of other Volvo stuff. Brand new, never used. Too new for any cars I have. I don't even know what wagon it's for! If you know and could use it, you can have it... unless it's super rare, I'll split the bounty with you :oogle:

Exactly what I was looking for! I'll call dibs on the cover please - I can give it a safe, warm and comfy home for years to come. PM me with details, bounty requirements, etc.
