crank, no start

Are you thinking it could be "stuck" and causing a restriction?

SEIZED / STUCK / PACKED UP / RUSTED SHUT / FULL OF
BOTTOM OF THE TANK DETRITUS ... take yer pick..
get a brass hammer in there and SMACK it...if the FLOW INCREASES
even if it's only when struck - you've found the culprit
I prefer diagnosis over the parts cannon - but that's just my stubborn nature
evidencing itself....;-)

I'm kinda thinking about ordering a filter, a main pump, and an intank "upgrade" pump from IPD...just to make me happy in the pants. lol

I understand this is the shotgun method and I'm not really fond of it myself but, I know the issue is on that side of the fuel system and I haven't done any maint/upgrades to the car since buying it so this might be some good peace of mind further down the road.

UPDATE!

It's Fixed! :)

It was the main pump!

I also replaced the fuel filter and upgraded the in-tank pump to higher pressure unit from IPD and ALL of the wiring on the car is FIXED!

The car starts and runs better than it has during the time I have owned it.

Now I am dirty and tired and I have a 5 page paper to write that is due in 13 hours...shower, a little sleep, coffee, then write paper...and drive the VOLVO!:-D

*WELL PLAYED LADDIE*!!

(side benefit is that you can rest easy knowing you've sorted the WIRING
STUFF and *that* eliminates a HOST of GHOSTIES!!)

I need to locate a couple grey connectors and do the RWC solder fix too. :ninja:

last ones I bought (mid-year last year) *from Volvo*
were same connector but in BLACK...
I'll see if I can find the notes in my logbook....:)
*UPDATE*

967808 holds the FEMALE "socket"
967809 holds the M ALE "pigtail"

just tried the "volvoparts WEBSTORE" and can't get them to "come up"
(usually this means NLA...dang!

these?

*YESSS* that's them!.....wonder why "webpartsstore" won't show them by OEM
number??....be that as it may - those IPD bits *WILL* work...(they are dead ringers for the
ones I got last year at the "local boys")....

you can still get the "male and female wires" that go into that pair of "housing / connectors"

3523813 is the FEMALE "repair wire" (mine are about 40" long)
1323247 is the MALE "repair wire".... I keep a bunch of them in the
"Volvo harness repairs box" - they are *WHITE* insulation versions so you have to
make up a "tag system" and document it... (I heat shrink a short section of the "old wire"
to each end of the "repair" using the "clear heat shrink" polyolefin tubing:

YMMV....:oogle:
