81 242 drift toy

ebay 57 trim. .63 hotside, .57compressor wheel, super 50 hotside. idk my friend erik(falunbrick) used the same turbo for like 20k miles of pure abuse an his is still fine

I once had two 90 degree fittings on my feed line setup. I used the same port as you. I proceeded to go through two turbos. Removed the two 90 degree fittings, same turbo for three years. Mine is also an ebay 60 trim

what does teh 90 degree fitting have to do with it just wondering like why would that make the turbo go bad

The 60 trim I have came from ETD motorsports. So did my 50 trim (with fake speed holes haha) It didn't last more than 300 miles though, I should grab some pics of the wheel... it pretty much ate it self from the in/out shaft play.

My only problem with the 60 trim is, it is a surge monster. I don't know if it's the design, or what, but the 50 trim never did it. I did make 242 WHP with the 60 trim, with a piss poor tune by myself under 18 PSI on a B21FT. So I guess it's record speaks a little bit for itself.

The thing about oil drains is you want as little restriction as possible, since it's a gravity drain. So if you have oil pool for even a second, it will cause a back up of oil. Over time, that oil will go by the "seals" of the shaft of the turbo and burn off.

i dont have any 90's in my drain. i do in my feed though jsut a 90 off the font of the block an the 90 that is built into the feed line at the turbo

just dump it straight to the ground. Eventually you won't have to worry about oil getting past the turbo at all!

in all seriousness- the only reason I could see having a problem with 90* elbows on the feed side is maybe their ID necks down to the point where they become a serious oil restriction. From memory, Brian's 242 had oil feed problems and probably had atleast one or two elbows. My 242 never did but then again it was running like AN6 unrestricted LOL.

For the return a 90* at the block isn't ideal, generally try to keep that as smooth and sharp bend free as possible. Go as big as you can on the line too.

oh got it haha. i dont have any 90* in my drain but my drain angel does suck ass. im going to add a 90 becuase in my situation i think it will help honestly. ill post pics when i get around to getting under the car
