Ok so long story short I am putting a spare aw71 in my 93 240.

I don't remember what I did with the converter from it. Can I use the aw70 converter all right?
Is there a way to identify converters so if I do find a converter I can tell if its the 71 converter?

They won't interchange. Sometimes there is a number printed on the converter. That's why it's always a good idea to mark them. I've been in the same situation before.

I think I read here in the past it will fit and work. What won't interchange are the lock up converters vs. non-lock up converters. They are a different diameter on the snout. Send a PM to linuxman. He likely knows the answer.
