We'll get her going again. As soon as this ****ty weather goes away...

Pete.

Wow that sucks man... I miss the snow but when I see stuff like this I'm glad I don't have to bother with it.

It'll be better now anyways right!? Ecode stuff FTW

Bummer about the car. New hood, outer fender, and bumper along with reshaping the inner fender and you'll be good to go. No offense, but those front tires(the ones that give you braking power) look practically bald! Was a dumb idea to even try to drive with them in the snow/slush. That combined with idiot SUV drivers who think 4wd = unstoppable in the snow are probably why there are 75% of accidents on the freeway/interstate out in Colorado. If you drive in the snow/ice use snow tires. I know I wouldn't go anywhere in the winter without them.

that car would probably be considered totaled.

I've always like the purple 960's

I had problem with bald tires and ice last year, I ended up with a broken rim, bent axle, and messed up caliper. Hope you get everything worked out.

Damn, you broke the purple. :-(

Aaahh, you're making feel even worse...

Bald tires + ice = Don't drive the car, you idiot!

You're lucky you didn't kill someone.

I know. I didn't think they were as bad as they are... They're fine in the rain, and we rarely get assloads of snow here, so I deemed it not a problem... Obviously it was a problem...

Totally agree, but they are fine in the wet, but clearly not in the ice/snow... I only got this car in October... I haven't had a chance to do much except chage it's oil twice and to general taking care stuff.

Not much snow to be gotten here, either, and it's about the flattest land you'll come across... Not many people have snow tires are here, and are total retard drivers in the snow because we don't get much. Show's you how much better I am in the snow than everyone else who lives here.... Ha.

I think some inner fender and radiator support straightening, new outter fender, headlight and fog light and a ziptied bumper until I can find a good one is gonna do it. I can fix the hood well enough to work and look good, too, until I can find a good one/have the money for a good one.

dang. time for a new bumper though! staying stock?

Probably, unless I find an 850R or V70R in and yards around here with a good bumper... I think for now I'm going to punch some holes and zip-tie the hell out of it until I can find a good one.

awww, poor purple car : (

Gaah! I know!! I'm sooo bummed that I did the Purple so wrongly. I feel really bad about it...

Expensive lesson.

Sound like my dad... But yes, it certainly is. Slow down when it's below freezing or there's snow/slush/ice out, and make sure your gear is up to snuff. And don't drive if you don't have to...

Maybe, maybe not. Apperently, Bluebook is around $5,000 for my car, and that was about $2,000-$3,000 of damage...

And, I really like my Purple! I don't think I could go to a different color 960. It's a great color because no one can guess what it is. It's dark and mysterious... lol. At least I can get some mixed and respray it... And I'll only need to do a few panels...

Ouch. I'm really glad my car is 99% cosmetic. I think it's time for at least two new tires... Maybe I'll get lucky and find a Volvo with good wheels and tires in the junkyard...

Thanks for the words, guys.

I kinda wish I had thought to get on the throttle and spin the thing out. That may have saved my front and just slid the side of the car into the dirt on the side of the road... Or maybe just made my plow into the phone pole 5 feet past where I hit... Anyway, back to work!! Gotta straighten the hood the rest of the way... And take the fender off.

Thanks!

Pete.

damn son. not too much work involved to fix it so it could have been worse, but it always sucks when teh carz hits stuffs

Word.

I feel so bad.... I haven't apologized to my car yet, either. I think it needs some support. It looks so sad, rejected and hated sitting in my driveway sans headlight and bumper... Maybe I should roll her into my garage and get her out of the weather. She can chill with the Bugeye until I can get her the parts.

I just feel so bad about doing the Purple wrong... I need to get her fixed and better than before A.S.A.P.!

Pete.

well that sucks..but i think buying a set of snow tires would have been cheaper.

Not enough annual snow to constitute the purchase of snow tires... And no hills to worry about, being that Cape May County is one huge sandbar... But yeah, it would've been a cheaper to at least have gotten new tires... That's next on the list!

this reminds me of that clip they showed on the weather channel 50 million times today/yesterday of a ford contour spinning around on a highway/interstate.
