This is what happens when someone decides "they can make it off the motorway" after a 940 turbo has dumped out all it water via a rusty core plug!

Melted temperature sensors, melted knock sensor, melted timing cover, and one 1997 oil squirter block and head into the scrap bin, in fact one complete car into the scrap bin. ooops!

Probably not, we picked this car up yesterday, basically for some purple panels for Roger's estate. It was just rank, mould growing in the footwells that you'd have needed a lawnmower to cut. I think the heater core was leaking so it was run on plain water and eventually the core plugs cried ENOUGH. Result, one dead car.
 
there is/was a n/a 940 in the scrapyard here that received the same treatment. only 70K on the clock. melted timing cover etc. the rest of the car was neglected and very dirty.
They tried to fix it with a new radiator :lol: which is now in my shed, waiting to be pressure tested and fitted in my 240 one day. Gotta love a new radiator for 25 euro hehe.

You would think the smoke signals coming from under the hood would be a sign at some point too... Or maybe the pleasant toxic melted plastic smell...

Seriously, a basic auto mechanics class should be manditory for all licensed drivers.
 
It's amazing how people in the UK neglect cars and are so quick to throw them out.
Yet, the british think that americans are worse consumers of motor vehicles and don't take care of them...
 
Unless you have roadside recovery insurance, it would cost more to recover off the motorway than to just get another 940.

**** it, its just a 940 anyway.
