I might be getting a new wagon and entering the world of 240's

I would like to see what yous guys got for lowness and stretched tires. if i was on bump stops would shocks be necessary?

If it was on bump stops, shocks would be pointless. Unless you cut and re-weld suspension points, you will have no travel at all in the suspension meaning even the slightest bump will get transmitted right to your spine.

And it's not like there's a whole world of VIP/hippari/"hella flush" 240s here on turbobricks that only 240 owners know about. What you've seen is largely what there is.

not much to choose from then ehh?

not really. You could always just be ghetto and remove the suspension, replacing it with spacers if the car would drag, or you could spend waaaaay too much money on short strut coilovers, or you could do a custom airbag setup, or again with the cutting out and rewelding.

i was thinking about removing springs and shocks and fabing a spacer for the bumpstop to raise it off the ground a little

honestly i kinda want it to drag

...you could spend waaaaay too much money on short strut coilovers...

"waaaaay too much money" is a relative term. How is the car going to be used? Do you want usable suspension travel and also get the ride height you desire? Or do you just want it low and don't care if handles like dog doo?

That would be awesome for about 5 minutes.

Go for it. Actually these cars do well with no functional suspension , I mean all considered LOL.

The only thing is you will be tearing stuff up a bit, but ahh well it's for the course. The main part/trouble area is the steering rack - the inner/outer tie rod ends are put at a severe angle so if you have a worn rack it will more than likely start leaking.

I'm at the point though that I seldom cut more than 2 3/4 coils up front, and about 1 1/4 rear on my stuff these days - there is a certain limit on that tomfoolerly. I've had as much as 3 3/4 coils off front, and 2 1/2 rear. Car looked great though, lol.

If you are going to just lop off spring coils like that, then there is no point to even bother with having good working struts, or rear shocks.

Experience counts for a lot, so just keep that in consideration here.

This the car isnt a performance beast is a 90 n/a not worried about taking turns im just wanting low and slow

Well in that case, **** yeah - cut that **** up :) But if you do it, do it right and drop it all the way down there:

Here's what a 240 looks like on 18s with bottomed out suspension. The front has shocks only, no springs or bump stops. The rear is being held up with 4" blocks of wood.
