I just bought an xtra clean 1987 240DL (75000 miles, will post pictures later). I'm trying to get as much information on the diagnostic on why is low at the rear. I have read about different posibilities like springs, and trailing arm bushings, shocks, but it seems like is a trial and error matter. Is there any way to now for sure what is wrong?
Thanks.:help:

Well, I would be 99 percent sure it's your springs. My 87 was the same way!

I'd try shocks first because they are cheap, but shocks really do not carry load or raise the car, so it's probably more than likely springs. What you can do, is try to find a set of diesel coils at a junkyard or get IPD's (www.ipdusa.com) overload springs!

Good luck
