Attempted Revival of Frank the tank...

Cut out the top of the vinyl were it was curling, sanded it a bit, and attached a piece of cherry veneer with a 3M adhesive back. Thats after trimming and one coat of rosewood stain, im gonna keep playin with it. I think we all know how much I hate these door panels.

Its pretty far from perfect, we will see how a few more coats of stain an a clear satin finish will make it look.

Also went an picked up my interior parts an grill today, 275 bucks for it all and there was no shipping, i think I did ok. The seats are a lil dry an cracked, i might look into having them redyed. Ill see how they end up after a thorough cleaning, which is needed cause the junked car was full of porn an a bottle of lotion.

Put a second coat of stain on the door panel. One more coat an im gonna put the finish on it i think.

ooh will those type door panels fit on a 740? anyone try?
They are pretty hot. Well, door handle is in the wrong place, but hell, give it a shot. You can probably pick them up cheap at the p&p. Tell us how it goes. I'd bet door are almost exactly the same. If you wanted to make life easy, you could just cover the slot where the 960 door handle would go (or do something sexy like mount tweeters in each one). It doesn't look like it would take too too much work (just a little too much :-D ). Hmm, maybe I'll try it...

Agreed, but I am but a poor renter and the owner of the house is very proud of his shooting range targets.
