760 turbo idle hunting, possible turbo leak

Hello all, been battling this issue for over a year after a cross country trip (NYC to LA and back). 260k miles on engine:

Replaced all vac lines,
gaskets (throttle body, intake, exhaust),
fuel pumps are good,
fuel pressure good,
fpr is new and good,
fuel injectors rebuilt and good,
Dist cap and rotor, plugs, wires all replaced within year.
New coil, previous had failed.
O2 sensor good,
new crank sensor,
etc sensor tests good.
New fuel injector relay (rsr) after recent failure.

Still hunting.

One thing I’ve noticed is exhaust smell from the engine. First thought was a cracked exhaust manifold but can’t find any cracks. Took to a muffler shop and they said it seems like there’s a leak at the turbo. I’ve tightened everything around it and problem persists. I’m curious if anyone knows what could cause the turbo to leak exhaust.

Thanks y’all.

What year is the car? So we know what turbo you have

Edit: NVM just saw you said crank sensor, so you should have a 90 with a td04.
