That happens if O-ring on the drain is bad. Crank rotates and splashes oil into that direction. Added with slightest crankcase pressure is enough to make a mess.

Many use a solid pulley in racing without issues. I'd rather have a damper but on a B2xx it's easier to have a solid pulley with a SC.
