Just ordered an adapter plate from Roger Dee. In reading through the forums, I can't seem to find a definitive answer to what others have found that works.
While on the topic of the swap, what have folks used for slave/throw out bearing setup?

Have you checked the whiteblock conversion thread? OldVolvo just updated with all the various TB addicts who have whiteblocked..... several are running the FORD T5 behind them.

Anyone figure this out? Rough measurements from a broken caliper give me 35mm OD and 18mm ID being the right size. (N crank, 5.0 input shaft)

I'd buy a needle bearing for a 5.0 then machine a whiteblock pilot to fit the 5.0 bearing?
or make a sleeve to hold the bearing with a .0015 press fit for the bearing and the crank.

Apparently there are two different styles...one a bearing and one a bushing. I don't know the changeover years, but here is what I found from other TB'ers.

The end of the crank is different. You will not be able to use the pilot bearing that the early 850 engines, and alex butchka specifies in one of the threads. I used an oilite bushing I found at Advance Auto Parts, they had it on the shelf. The part # is: Dorman brand, #14647. It's a little long, but I didn't bother cutting it down. NOTE only the the OD is correct! It will press clean into the crank, mine was a .002" press I believe. BUT the ID is too small! You will have to take this to a machine shop and get it reamed out.

Here's a nugget for all interested parties:

Today I picked up a pilot bearing that will work with a T5 tranny on a whiteblock. The bearing requires a 17mm ID for the T5 input shaft, 35mm OD and 10mm width to fit in the whiteblock crank. A local industrial supply shop deals in NTN brand stuff and they happened to have the exact size I needed for $17 or so.

The bearing is NTN part number 6003LLBC3/1K, here's the white paper for it:

It was a very snug fit in the crank just as it should be and the stock retainer circlip fit perfectly.

I've heard two different crank sizes, good thing mine is 35mm

6003LLBC3/1K Seems to be what I'm looking for, thanks. Now to bang my head against the wall because my block is missing mounting bosses.

Fwiw pay attention to the fit of the deeworks adapter to the bell housing. I ended up using a waterjet one I got from another member on here because the deeworks one was going to be a press fit into my bell housing. Not sure if that's as designed, but it's what I ran into.

Didn't cause any issues with the bell housing but was a fraction too thin, input shaft was jammed into the rear of the crank and had to be trimmed a MM

Not a full mm, just a little bit with a sanding wheel. Might be because it was a ebay input shaft to replace the SN95 one and who knows there tolerances. Just try to turn the engine over once it's all bolted up and if it isn't binding you probably wont have to touch it
