242 Build , next one "bumperless"
this is my 1984 242 turbo Story . Factory 4 speed with overdrive and turbo 2.3 .
The day when I piked it up from red hook area upstate ny . Lots of rust .
Paid $500 for it . That was July of 2012

and sweet interior, There was more hornt's nests inside then then car had gears

So when I got it I decided that will go with 16v on b230 block. I used 91 780 with 88k and 1900 740 head with 100k.
Plus mustang tranny , got T5 out of 2.3 . price was great so I bought it plus it was all fresh inside

First I replaced 3 out of 4 floor panels.
Some idiot inserted expending foam in to rocker panels and clogged all the water drain holes. That was fun to remove .
I came across hundai tiburon interior for $100 so I bought it all and it almost fit. So little mounting poins modification and it worked out perfect

Dynamat all over the place . I still have to add more , that will be done in next 2 weeks

After floor and interior was done I moved to rear section .
There was lots of rust in the back . So it had to be all cut out

Two more interior shoots

And then getting it ready for a fresh paint job

rolling out , from spray booth

All assebled with the new 16'' wheels on

Now engine , tranny and harness
head got crawn vic , valve springs and total rebuild

Block is bone stock with notches made for pistons

I shorten the distributor , and breather can

Turbo is k24 from AMG mercedes engine with k24 s60r housings . Yes porsche mercedes they used all the same turbochargers , but differend housings

This was very time consuming process . Wire harness conversion . I used huge 780 harness and got rid of 75 % of it

Engine test runs on the stand

In the mid time rx7 front calipers

Now engine and tranny swap
OUT!!!!

and in

bell housing modification for T5 adapter

Great grabbing custom clutch with 6 puck

Tranny in with fresh crossmember

3'' in to 2.5'' exhaust , stainlees with magnaflow muffler

cheery red shifter

Hose for 3'' throttle body with cobra head hose .
Also 760 booster was installed

Engine bay done in 95% . I need to finish bracker for brake fluid bottle

Now trunk make over

and engine bay again

Looking good . Running 12 psi on blue T5 injectors , pulls great

Also I put fresh rear end with 3.31 grears and Locker , second set of caliper for ebrake operation ;) , fresh bushing everywhere

And Momo steering wheel that I bought at Carlisle momo pedal covers

I have nice set of recaro seat that will go in ,
And car will be much faster probably before end of this year .
I will keep you boys and girls updated

Car looks awesome! That back bumper delete, on the other hand does not look good. Just my opinion though, from the front with the hood open it is awesome! and looks even better in person!

Loved this at Carlisle. Some variety in mods, which is nice to see. I found the rear odd, but not bad looking in person. Somehow it looks more meh in the pics here.

if the bottom of the rear quarter panel wrapped under juuust a little, id love it.
its a little off to my untrained, untalented eye...

overall, love the car, great setup, great color, wheels look good, enjoy your creation!

What's the story on the Ferrari?

Ferrari wheels was a steel .
I did some research again .
It is a 3 piece wheels , made by Epsilon . Japanese company .

http://www.stanceworks.com/forums/showthread.php?t=40433

the same wheel with gold insert .
Fronts are 16x7 rears are 16x8
205/50/16 front and 225 /50/16 rear

Guy from South Carolina had them on ferrari 308 . I always do dirtycraig searches for rear stuff and that guy was changing his wheels to factory set up . Looks much nicer . So Epsilons where for sale . Price was $100 , I thought that per wheel . Called him up and after quick conversation he tells me that he wants $100 for all four of them .
I sent him $200 right a way thru paypal . He kept change from shipping and I have a sweet wheels for free .
Hub and offset are perfect for volvo . I have rx7 front calipers so I had to use 1/4 inch spacers in the front .
Drives like a dream
So Epsilon wheels with 5x108 pattern wheels are great for RWD volvos
