I need to make a new high pressure power steering hose to join my Volvo rack to a GM power steering pump. I have new hoses for both sides and need to join them in the middle.
I'm thinking for a temporary solution before I get a shop to make a correct hose I can use the two different ends and double hose clamp the hose to the steel line. Am I asking for trouble or? Will overlap the steel line about an 1' or so

Instead of a crimped fitting, I will use two hose clamps to join rubber line to hard line

High side pressure can approach 1000 psi. I wouldn't trust a splice to hold that kind of pressure.

I tried 3 hose clamps, lasted 20 minutes, blew in my driveway, found a Hydraulic store and had one made. Lesson learned
