I have plans for a different style oil cooler and remote filter setup and I want to replace this threaded pipe with a shorter one. I thought it would simply turn and spin out, but it's REALLY TIGHT and now I'm wondering if it's pressed in.

B21FT.

Who knows for sure?
Thanks, Dave

It's screwed tight into the block. Get another nut (?"-16) and tighten them up against each other really tight and use the inside nut to remove the stud.

Get two 3/4x16 grade 8 nuts at the hardware store, counter tighten them real snug and use the inner one to turn it out.

They're not usually too tight from the factory, but on a rebuilt engine they can be set in there pretty hard.

Pipe wrench if it's real tight is the only way I've gotten them out.

Before I tried the jam-nut method, I put a small monkey wrench in there and sure enough, it turned right away. Pretty sure I probably used that method 20 years ago when doing my stroker motor. Senility setting in.

Thanks, Dave
