A quick little lunch break job. Pull handles. Going minimalist on the door panels for now. May get fancier later.

Still need to machine some caps to cover the ends, but they’ll work for now.

I wish I had the time to take to learn to do this stuff. Door panels on the 242 have been bothering me for years.

My dad used to tell me “There’s 24 usable hours in every day. It’s up to you how you use them”

I think that’s along winded way of saying sleep is overrated.

Love the "lightness added" in the handles. I'd complain to dad "I don't have enough time" and his reply was always "Son, you have all the time there is."

Awesome as usual! I know you may have stated it previously, but what sewing machine brand and model are you using? My old, all metal Singer from the 30's just isn't cutting it.

Oh I'm all too familiar with that. Plenty of protests from the spousal unit because of it.

That’s why I’m up at 3:00am while she’s still sleeping and off to get stuff accomplished.

With end caps and a plate to make sure the caps stay straight.

Another project I’ve been messing with. Hope to have it done by the end of next week.

OH SNAP. You're front loading! I should try that too sometime. Thanks for the tip.

Nice! Got anything in mind for the BMW logo on the top of the intake?

I have an extra manifold that I'll shave/paint and probably add the logo I put on the center caps. It’s the Volvo iron logo around the BMW logo. Just like the car.

It’s a LOOOOOOONG ways from being done done, but I’m touting this year as the “see behind the curtain” year. Eventuallyit should be all smooth/paneled up and it’ll be tougher to see the marriage stuff.

Made it all the way to Portland. Only hiccup was still in Seattle when I stopped at my buddy’s house. Alternator locked up. Quick swap and back on the road.

Three years in a row one of my cars takes best of show. Honestly, I didn’t expect anything this year. Especially with the level of incompletion and the amount of BMW in it, but I’m glad they appreciate all the effort that it took. My wife is the best too.
