Default Hood hinge replacement on 240

Hi all,
I need to replace the hood hinge on my 1992 240. I'm wondering whether I'll need to take the fender off to do this.
Where the hinge bolts on above the wheel well there doesn't seem to be a way to reach underneath to where the bolt attaches - is there a nut under there that could fall off when I take the bolt out, or is there something built in to the body that the bolt attaches to?
Thanks for your help!

No it's a weld-nut on the fender apron.
