B18/20 Su intake/exhaust stud/nut questions

do those washers with loop point up or down?
under those washers - the aluminum seems to be thinner than exhaust does a 1/2 washer go there?
I thought I has nuts for intake/exhaust but I can find them are coppers good to use instead ? (i have plenty from OHC redblocks and white blocks...hmm now that I think about it maybe the threads are different)

Aren't they the loop washers that hold return springs? It's been awhile and maybe I'm thinking of a different setup. Also not unusual to have to make half washer spacers. The B20 in my 69 wagon was setup with the early aluminum intake like that and had a newer FI exhaust manifold. It too needed the spacer half washers.

The studs are 5/16 18 thread. 45mm long.
