Hello,

My name is Gergő , I live in Hungary and I love old Volvos. As my mother has always preferred Volvo 240 cars, I have also taken to them.

My first Volvo was a 79' 244GL D6 with m46. I got the car in 2013 for my birthday. I liked it very much but, as I found the performance of the engine rather unsatisfying, I sold it in 2th January.

I had always dreamt about a '89+ 240 wagon with 300+hp redblock engine. I set out on the 7th of January to Venice as I had found one with the aforementioned preferences.
It's a 91' Super Polar, an Italian model with B200F engine, m47 gearbox ,black leather interior and so many extras. The car is in a very good conditon. It has original paint and only 169.000kms.
I thinked it's the perfect basis for my dream project.

Heading to it's new home

And now with Virgos

My mom's wagon

In March I bought a rusted 92' 940GLE with B230FT, ZF22 for the engine and the G80 locker.
Unfortunately, the engine is in a bad condition and doesnt have oil squirters.

In 28th July I bought a wonderful 98' 940 Classic in Austria for the B230FK engine
and the M90L gearbox.

The plans:
- B230fk √
- M90L √
- G80 √
- ported 531 head √
- chiped ecu
- bigger IC
- H-beam connecting rods
- ARP cylinderhead bolts
- TTV flywheel with 850R clutch
- Cometic headgasket
- 19T turbo
- SuperPro bushes
- Bilstein HD's
- IPD anty-sway bar kit and adjustable torque rods

I'm in a difficult situation because in Hungary you cannot find someone who is expert in the tune up of the redblocks

Wagon twins! Mine is same color, '91 and also turbo swapped+M90. Let me know if you have any questions!

The TTV clutch/flywheel setup is very nice, good choice and very good value for $$! Not sure you need rods/studs for that goal but they are cheap enough nowadays!

I was thinking of going to Budapest one day, there is a nice festival now I hear :-P

Thanks.;-) I know, I read your thread. :)
I have a great plenty of questions and I will be in touch with you!
I didnt even know that there was no need for an adapter or rods/studs.

Yeah, the Sziget festival is a nice festival but I can"t go because I was in Balaton Sound in July and I need money for buying parts:):)

Well, regarding rods, its easy to swap them now. A H-beam set on Ebay.de is 250 euro + some money to spend for checking clearances and honing the small end to size. Some people wreck stock rods at 300 hp, some at higher numbers. Depends on many things :)
Stock head bolts+gasket have proven to be fine at 300-400 hp. Check savarturbo forum for 1st hand experience.

My +T/swap has been running good for the last 5+ years as my daily drive, some things i'd do the same, some different. Depends on the intended use. Ask all you want! It looks like you have good plans so I'm sure it will work good!

I removed catalyst and rear muffler just for fun. Sounds like a race car but its just a slow wagon yet:)

Compressed bumper shocks and broken trim. If the unibody is compromised it's usually fairly easy to tell.

Car should be fine. Hopefully you have not gotten rid of the rustbucket yet.

Hi Guys,

Very longtime I am not posted... but lot of things have happened.:) aaand my english is still not very good
Sooo.. I bought 11 old Volvos in last 3 years. Yes, I know I'm idiot :omg:

I was at in Stockholm for a Volvo 940 2.3Turbo+m90. The car was amazing, first owner (88yo Grandpa), 132.000km and the best Volvo color I think. I loved this car but a 95+ 2.3 turbo 940 wagon is very expensive car in Germany, Holland etc... So I sold this amazing car to Germany.

Last summer, I was at in Hungarian Volvo meeting with a 97' 940 2.0Turbo that I build for drag race:). Straight pipe and 0.8bar but all stock.. and yes a T5 beated me:lol: This car I sold to a Czech drifter:)

As me, my brother also started loving rwd Volvos so I bought a very nice 940 wagon for him. This car is one of the last produced 940 wagons but unfortunately not a 2.3t just a 2.0t. Second owner, 100% original paint and 100% rust free. I puted out the engine because headgasket and clutch problems and overhauled with original parts. For better performance, I bought a rebuilt 16T turbo :) Brakes are also important, so I bought 850R calipers (302mm) and overhauled them. Now the car running on 0.8bar with stock injectors, stock exhaust but I last month I bought new Bosch 440cc giants and ordered chip from BWB motorsport because 1bar pressure I have fuel cut on 5k rpm with orig setup. It's not a race car, this car is my brothers dd, so He need only safer 200-220hp.

Whats happened with my project? Yes, nothing. The basis was my Super Polar but I changed my mind because a wonderful 240 Wagon with low miles, original paintwork, some extras is very very expensive nowadays (in europe). So the Super Polar is too good for my project. In summer I will sell to Germany. Luckily, last year I bought am another 240 wagon in Hungary and this is a perfect basis I think now.:) No original paintwork and no extras but it has also a good look and no rust. So I hope in this summer I can sort time for my project, aaand yes I have new plans for it :)
