I'm considering buying a 1990 240 sedan, auto, one owner. A/C doesn't work, odometer broken. Mileage est 140000. Codes 123, 221, 212 come up on code reader. Should I walk away from this car? Immaculate interior, rust free exterior. Any advice would be appreciated

I... rust free ...

This would be the interesting issue for me. One owner is nice -- nothing worse than trying to debug what some 3rd owner/enthusiast did to "upgrade" an otherwise long lasting design. Focus on the reality of that "rust free" assessment. As I write this I see the Smiles box and all those cute little emojis mocking my use of "rust free."

You can get codes like that for a number of reasons. Cars like this are not code monsters like a more modern car can be. I would not walk away from a clean 240 if it has codes set. It would only help the price of the car with the codes set.
