Hey, so I have a 95 960 that has the SC-811 radio in it. It sounds...really bad. The weird part is that it sounds way worse when the car has been sitting overnight in the cold, and it starts to sound a bit better as the car (or radio? Or amp?) warms up.
Currently I only have audio in the front door speakers, and only barely at that.
I'm seriously considering ripping everything out and building an audio system for this thing since that's all you can REALLY do with a 960 anyway without a huge amount of effort.
But I figure I may put a little effort into fixing the stock system before I go whole hog.
Which brings me to the actual question...did the SC-811 head unit use an amp? I'm wondering if maybe the head unit is fine but the amp is dying.
If there's no amp, it's probably something screwed up in the head unit.
