Well.. last night my brother called me.. and overpowering his voice on the phone was this banging rattling sound 
Turns out that during the middle of rushhour traffic on the higway... his rear muffler ripped off... and just wedged under his bumper and was jacking up the back of his car.
The thing just rusted right at the conenction and flipped down. The tailpipe is bent in half from being jammed under a 3200lb fat thing (car) and the muffler is all shiney in some places from teh area running on the ground at 65-70 mph... must have been LOTS of sparks
Well... so now we have to replace the system on his car.. so we ordered the starla catback system. I will have to take some pics of the magled tailpipe and muffler
