I have uploaded lots of pics to the site. I can see them, but others cannot. I got a report they show up black.

A link to a pic of parts I have for sale:

http://www.forums.turbobricks.com/picture.php?albumid=212&pictureid=3702

Do they work?

One of the reasons people donate so that they can upload pics to the site.

I am aware of photo hosting sites.

The odd thing is, I can see them.

I don't think IMG tag works like that... I guess that img src= doesn't like that either

Copy the image ADDRESS and put it in IMG tags. Don’t copy the actual image to your clipboard..just the address. So essentially you want the URL of your image.

You mean like this Zach? Probably recognize it, mod powers FTW.

So, use the img tags, but you can't use the image in the address bar since that takes you into the album, not to the picture. Right click on the pic, copy image location, put that between the image tags.

I don't see anything in post #13, but I see the V6 twin turbo engine pic in post #12.

so i'm not sure how that link was generated... but http://www.forums.turbobricks isnt going to work. I edited your url to be https://forums.turbobricks and now it works for me

Ever since TB went to the https secure cert there has been issues with old links that have only http in the URL. My signature pic below worked fine for a while with the old http, but then vanished a few days ago. I just edited it to https and it's back. [Edit: I was able to do this only because I update my own server to https a few months back]

I think this may be the case for a whole bunch of pics that have been uploaded over the years if you find them disappearing.

Another note. I tried testing and inserted a pic hosted outside in an http server and it would not appear in the post, when it would have appeared just fine not long ago. That will present a big problem for anyone with outside hosting that isn't in an https server..

One clarification that I want to point out, after I updated my server to https I had not problems displaying the hundreds of pics in my own web pages, all of which still had the old http code. I have since gone through and replaced all that code, but my point is that the old http code still worked in my pages, but now it seems to be a problem in TB where anything with http only isn't going to work.

Does that make sense?
