Default Intercooler routing

Alright so this is an idea that popped into my head, may seem stupid but whatever.

What if an intercooler was routed to induct air into the turbo and then the intake?

I always thought that this was odd that it wasn't how they were all routed. My main reason for thinking it makes sense is that because wouldn't it be good for the turbo if it was cool air being pulled through the turbo as opposed to hot air?

Might just be a theory but I guess there's probably a reason they aren't routed that way.

The turbo creates a lot of heat...which is why it gets cooled after the turbo

That is the nicest response will you probly get on this website from a question like that.

Buy and read Corky Bells Maximum Boost. It's a bit dated but the fundamentals are the same. Great read, a ton of info.

While it can be said the only stupid question is the one that is never asked, a little bit of research on the topic would have given you a better understanding of how intercoolers work in the first place, and why ZERO vehicle manufacturers have ever considered routing one as you describe.

You certainly don't need to go buy an antiquated Corky Bell BOOK to educate yourself on the topic, there are numerous online resources that give you all the explanation you will ever need on IC theory.

Here is one very good article for starters.

What if you cryo-sprayed the intercooler with one of those spray bar kits off of ebay? Sounds like an expensive cold air intake
