I’m looking at a super melted inline fuse holder under the hood. It’s kind of alarming that the holder completely melted rather than the fuse just blowing. Anyone experienced this?

It’s the big inline fuse for the injection system

It isn't unusual, and quite common. The cause is high resistance at the connections where the heating occurred caused in turn by invisible corrosion. Replace the holder and any crispy wiring and don't fall into the false notion there's anything wrong with the circuit it protects.

Adding a little smear of zinc impregnated grease (like Oxgard) will go a long way in reducing the corrosion that caused it.

and further to Art's point, to prove this to yourself, read thru the subject wiring with your ohmmeter...... the resistance will be large. Disconnect both ends before you read the ohms.... as if melted thru you could be dead shorted to ground now (much LESS resistance).

Good advice from DB about the Oxygard, used by electricians.
