Megasquirt on myvolvo 850 T5

Hi, I'm new to this form but have read that this is the place to be. I want big hp out of my T5, and a standalone Ecu is the best way in my eyes for tuning. Any help is welcome, because I don't know much about standalone Ecus on Volvos.

That statement applies you know about them on non-Volvo cars then?

If so, just find your favorite brand that supports 5 cylinders. Not all of them do support 5 cylinders or they don't show it.
 
Let's start with the basics:

What do you know about standalone ECU?
What year is your 850?
Do you have emission you need to pass?
 
I do not have to worry about emissions. The car is a 96 850 t5. In the field of wiring them little to none, in performance I know that it will be a lot better for the car in the tuning stand point. Better fuel management and over all control of how the car is running day to day.

I know quite a bit about the ls motors, and Honda line of stand alone products.
 
850 M4.3 and 98 M4.4 has been hacked and can be pretty customizable.

Maybe you'd want to look into those options before spend $$$$

If you want to Megasquirt, decide what features you want, what features you need, then decide if the obsolete MS2 or more expensive MS3 is for you, read the manuals many times http://www.msextra.com/manuals/ and buy whatever you need. https://www.diyautotune.com/

Expect very little help as each install of Megasquirt is custom and custom install has custom issues.
