Default Global Tuner Grand Prix, Laguna Seca Oct 22-24

The owner of the Volvo race team K-Pax has invited club members to come on out and see the K-Pax S60 cars smack down some Porsches.

October 22nd thru the 24th, there is going to be a Global Tuner Grand Prix (GTGP) at Laguna Seca. Part of the event is the GTGP Challenge Race. Here is the link http://www.globaltunergp.com.

We are going to have one of the K-PAX Racing S60s running in the race with Andy Pilgrim driving and plan on bringing two of the cars to the track. One of the reasons we are going to this race is we can run without restrictions. What that means is we can take out about 300 pounds of lead weight, we can run on slicks versus shaved Toyo street tires, we can raise the boost back up to 28 psi or so and probably the most important reason is we have the opportunity to beat some Porsches in a Volvo.

Spread the word and hope to see you there.

Regards,

Jim Haughey

Team Owner

K-PAX Racing

Speed GT Manufacturers World Champions 1st and 2nd place. http://www.carfanmania.com/blog/1050...ll-tastes-okay

Contact me if you're going and interested in a car corral. Entry is $15.00 10 cars to set up the corral. cj.yother@ggvcoa.org If we get enough cars we may be able to get a parade lap too.

Sorry for the late notice, been busy lately.

****, Sunday is autocross day.

I'm there Sat and Sun I think, not sure yet.

10 cars? My car will be there. Guess I should make it look nice (ha) and wash it.

They are predicting rain (sad face)

It's a 30% chance. Skip the autocross and just come out on sunday.

Looks like I will be there both days. No G80 install and suspension work on Saturday, I will be watching some racing.

I'll know if I have Sunday off either today or tomorrow. If I do, I'll be there.

i am committed tomorrow for dyno day already but possible 3-day weekend in play

quick edit: checking for unlimited bacon BRB

wow, unlimited bacon costs extra in your town. still a po'boy so i'll have to settle for only the stage 0.5 dyno sheet for nao.

i have enough points racked up for another stay but not at the one in monterey, it'd cost me a C note to buy the extra points needed... retarded.

Bummer.

Good news for me, I got my tickets for FREE. Now I have no excuses unless I break a leg or something.

Yes. When I posted earlier I had 2 for Saturday. Russ came home with 2 for Sunday so you and Dingle can fight over the extra ticket when you get here. Or just split it and it will only cost 7.50 each to get in the gate.

Tomorrow should be fun. I'm bringing a 12 of cheap beer and leaving for the track early. I hope it doesn't rain but it's been wet all day. Mist, drizzle and rain, the pavement was wet in patches all day.

So now I have more free tickets, 3 or 4 extras. Might be more if the guys in SLO didn't get to bed in time.

Rain both days, not a lot of people, but good racing.
